Frequently Asked Questions

🔍 Why isn't the OCR recognizing my cards correctly?

For best OCR results:

  • Ensure good lighting - avoid shadows and glare
  • Keep the card flat and in focus
  • Center the card in the camera frame
  • Clean your camera lens
  • Avoid extreme angles - shoot straight-on

The app works best with English Pokemon cards. Other languages may have limited recognition accuracy.

💰 Why are some card prices missing or incorrect?

Price data depends on several factors:

  • Market Availability: Some rare cards may not have recent sales data
  • Set Recognition: Ensure the correct set is identified during OCR
  • Condition Matching: Select the appropriate condition for accurate pricing
  • API Updates: Price data is updated regularly but may lag behind rapid market changes

Use the refresh button in evaluation lists to get the latest pricing data.

📱 How do I scan multiple cards at once?

Use the Binder Scanner feature:

  1. Open the app and tap "Scan Binder" on the home screen
  2. Arrange up to 9 cards in a 3x3 grid layout
  3. Ensure all cards are visible and well-lit
  4. Tap the camera button to capture
  5. The app will process each card individually

For best results, use card sleeves or a binder page with clear pockets.

📋 How do evaluation lists work?

Evaluation lists help manage card collections for vendors:

  • Create Lists: Add cards from scan results to organized lists
  • Vendor Calculations: Automatic 70% buyout and 80% trade-in calculations
  • Price Tracking: Monitor price changes with visual alerts
  • Export Options: Share lists with customers or for record-keeping

Lists are stored locally on your device for privacy and quick access.

🔒 Is my data secure and private?

Yes, we prioritize your privacy:

  • Local Storage: Your lists and preferences are stored on your device
  • No Personal Data: We don't collect names, emails, or personal information
  • Secure Processing: Card images are processed securely and not stored
  • Encrypted Communications: All API calls use HTTPS encryption

Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details.

🎯 How do price alerts work?

Price alerts help track market changes:

  • Automatic Detection: Cards with significant price changes are highlighted
  • Configurable Thresholds: Set percentage or dollar amount triggers in settings
  • Visual Indicators: Green for increases, red for decreases
  • Historical Tracking: Compare current prices with previous scans

Refresh your evaluation lists regularly to get the latest price change alerts.

📶 Do I need internet access?

Internet connection is required for core features:

  • OCR Processing: Card recognition requires online AI services
  • Price Data: Current market prices are fetched from online databases
  • Offline Features: View saved lists, modify settings, and browse previously scanned cards

The app will show cached data when offline but cannot scan new cards or update prices.
